Palm Harbor Parkway will be closed at Cris Lane beginning early Monday morning, Feb. 8, and continuing through the completion of the Palm Harbor Extension road construction in March.

PALM COAST, Fla. – January 6, 2016 –  Palm Harbor Parkway will be closed at Cris Lane beginning early Monday morning, Feb. 8, and continuing through the completion of the Palm Harbor Extension road construction in March. This temporary road closure is necessitated by the ongoing construction of the Palm Harbor Extension.

Access to Cris Lane and the Creek Course at Hammock Dune Club golf course will be provided through a detour. Motorists on Palm Harbor who need to get to Cris Lane or the Creek Course will be detoured to Cunningham Lane and Clementon Lane. Drivers will then be able to access the Creek Course from Cris Lane and the section of Palm Harbor Parkway north of Cris Lane.

The City appreciates the patience and cooperation of its residents during this important road improvement project.

Millions hear about The Palm Coast Project

Palm Harbor Parkway is a.k.a. / recorded as Dr. J. Norman Young Parkway.
He arranged for The Palm Coast Project viewing on ‘ The Merv Griffin Show ‘. Dr. Young had a Hollywood Connection and many Celebrities were often seen in Palm Coast always with alot of bling and glitz – We had Paradise here last Century – the only drawback was once a week we put coolers in our cars to go to the Grocery Store – a very small price to pay for living in Paradise – Free Tennis, Free Golf, Free Pools, Free Water , Free food, etc. all in Paradise last Century. There even was a Model A Sedan Coupe used to deliver Mail and act as a shuttle for us. ( The Antique Car was like the ‘ Gangster ‘ Cars you see in the movies) – with Trolleys – *clang* *clang* *clang* – Below is an excerpt from ‘ The Merv Griffin Show ‘ about ‘ The Palm Coast Project ‘ :

Dr. Norman Young, President and Chairman of the Board of ITT Community Development Corporation, was one of four guests discussing various aspects of economics and investments against a backdrop of spiraling inflation in America today. The other guests included Harry Browne, prominent author of “You can Profit from a Monetary Crisis’ and a vociferous advocate of gold investment, Robert Lyler, President of the U. S. Bullion Corporation, a company that buys and sells silver, which Mr. Lyler believes is a good investment as a hedge against the inflationary aspects of the American dollar, and Art Linkletter, well- known television personality.

Dr. Young’s position was one of strong faith in the long term economic health of America and in the value of the American dollar. According to Dr. Young, ‘there are multitudes of prophets of gloom and doom offering myriad alternatives as insurance against all kinds of catastrophes. This pessimistic attitude is more likely to breed catastrophe than the fundamental economic situation.’

The staunch confidence Dr. Young maintains in the future of America, stems from the fact that early in professional life he developed an expertise in statistics and learned that they have a peculiar characteristic….they’re never level, never always up , never always down. They fluctuate and so there will always be ups and downs associated with the valuation of the dollar, of gold , of silver,. As far as the economy goes, there is absolutely no certainty of anything approaching the “funereal predictions of so many doomsayers.”

In another line of discussion, Dr. Young assayed the plight and decay of many major American cities. Cited as a root cause, restrictive non-planning was contrasted with enlightened design inherent in the use of master plans. Dr. Young also stressed the increasing awareness of the psychological effects of crowding and pollution, prevention of which are prime concerns in the development of new communities.

According to Dr. Young, “though we can’t have a Utopia at Palm Coast, we will give people enough room enough territory to live, to work , to play , to grow and that will help ensure the health of the community and of America without the pollution normally associated with the cities of the world.”

Griffin, as well as the others on the panel, was very impressed with the amount of attention given to the details of green spaces, open beaches, sports, and recreation areas, and housing design. The discussion of Palm Coast certainly advanced the cause of enlightened planning in building new towns.

A question for the GoToby readers – any entrepreneurs out there wanting to start a Trolley Tour for Palm Coast since we are very history rich ? If so, please do not hesitate to contact me and I will very happily share the information that I’m am Steward of to help your endeavour. Perhaps something in conjunction with P.C.A.F., etc., an ‘Art and Architecture Tour ‘ / a ‘ Heritage and History Tour ‘ or re-create the Official Guided Tour first offered by Levitt and Sons & I.T.T. or by an electrified Trolley Tour, or perhaps seek Grants for the re-creation of the ‘ Guided Tour ‘ or perhaps somethng in conjunction with the Realtors here as was done last Century or perhaps offer a secondary tour – Tour of the Golf Courses & Recreational Areas for newbies /prospective buyers or perhaps contact Mr. Prem Devadas / Salamander Resorts to see if they will support this or Mr. Jacoby also for possible support – and ‘ Tour of the Restaurants Tour – side *advertising* could perhaps defray operational coasts – for the intial grants request(s) you could use the already existing 1972 document – ‘ An Approach to a New City: Palm Coast..’ by Dr. Norman Young -or some other creative ideas –
Now that Palm Coast is in the Smithsonian that is icing for you –
