FPL First Response Bldg - Palm CoastPALM COAST, FL – August 9, 2016 – A permit valued at $1,300,970 has been issued allowing Site Development to commence for Florida Power & Light’s planned hurricane-proof building on State Road 100 near Town Center. A Commercial Building Permit for the 25,436 square foot building carrying a contractor-stated value of $5,500,000 has been received by the City of Palm Coast.

The new two-story building will replace two smaller existing structures at the site. It will serve as a base for “storm riders” to ride out a storm, making them immediately available to fix downed power lines following a storm. The Palm Coast Response Center will be the company’s first of seven to be built in the state.

Tractor Supply Co. - Palm CoastThe SR corridor between Belle Terre and Roberts Rd will soon have five active commercial construction projects. Work has begun at the Shoppes at Palm Coast on the southeast corner of Belle Terre and SR 100 with a Tractor Supply Co. store under construction. Tractor Supply Co. will soon be joined by an ALDI Supermarket and a convenience store and gas station. Additional outparcels will accommodate banks or restaurants.

A Racetrac convenience store and gas station is under construction at the southwest corner of SR 100 and Seminole Woods Blvd., diagonally opposite the FPL construction site on the northeast corner of that intersection (SR 100 at Town Center Blvd).

Two SR 100 corridor projects are planned on the east side of Interstate 95. Both a 7-Eleven convenience store with a gas station and a Suntrust Bank are in the permitting process on outparcels in front of Beach Village. Beach Village is anchored by a Publix at the northwest corner of SR 100 at Roberts Rd.
