February 27, 2015 – Improved buyer demand at the beginning of 2015 pushed pending home sales in January to their highest level since August 2013, according to the National Association of Realtors®. All major regions except for the Midwest saw gains in activity in January.
February 26, 2015 – Flagler Beach Commissioners vote at 5:30 tonight on the second and final reading of an ordinance changing construction requirements of new homes built in the city. If enacted, the new ordinance will require the finished floor elevation of any new home to be one foot higher than presently required. The goal is noble, but the unintended consequences are not.
February 26, 2015 – At current tax rates, City of Palm Coast residents (in tax district 61) who take advantage of Florida’s Homestead Exemption get up to $854.90 knocked off their property tax bill. The deadline for qualifying for a Homestead Exemption for the 2015 tax year is March 1. Do it or lose it. Since March 1 is a Sunday this year, applications will be accepted through Monday, March 2nd.
February 25, 2015 – Florida’s housing market reported higher median prices, more new listings and the continued stabilization of inventory in January, according to the latest housing data released by Florida Realtors®. Closed sales of single-family homes statewide totaled 16,087 last month, up 10 percent over January 2014.
February 24, 2015 – The percentage of job seekers relocating for new positions in the last half of 2014 rose to its highest level in five years, as ongoing improvements in the employment and housing markets made moving for employment a more desirable option.

February 23, 2015 – Existing-home sales declined in January to their lowest rate in nine months, but the pace was higher than a year ago for the fourth straight month, according to the National Association of Realtors®. All major regions experienced declines in January, with the Northeast and West seeing the largest.
February 21, 2015 – According to today's Q4 and Year-End 2014 U.S. Institutional Investor & Cash Sales Report from RealtyTrac, the share of home sales to institutional investors and all-cash buyers dropped to a four-year low in 2014. However, it rose in the fourth quarter both nationally and in Florida.
February 20, 2015 – For three years, property owners in The Hammock were able to convert single-family residential homes into short-term vacation rentals without restrictions. That’s the period of time between 2011, when the Florida legislature preempted control of short-term vacation rentals by local governments, till 2014, when they returned many of the preempted items to local authority.

February 18 2015 – Commentary: Here we go again. Sea Ray, one of Flagler County’s largest private sector employers, wants to extend their employee parking lot. But residents of North Lambert Avenue are not pleased with the idea. They showed up, armed with lots of chutzpah, at a recent Flagler County Planning & Development Board to speak against Sea Ray’s plans.
February 17, 2015 -- Flagler County is hosting a Native American Festival at Princess Place Preserve that will include dancing, weapons demonstrations, encampments and displays.
February 16, 2015 – Matanzas Land LLC, owned by Palm Coast developer, Jim Cullis, has purchased the past-due mortgage for the Matanzas Golf Course.
February 14, 2015 – Local developer and head of Grand Haven Real Estate, Jim Cullis, has signed a purchase contract for property on Colbert Lane once occupied by the Lehigh Cement plant. The property straddles Colbert, but the main portion is on the east side between Colbert and the Sea Ray boat manufacturing plant.
