November 11, 2014 – Palm Coast and Flagler County will remember 2014 as marking the end of the foreclosure crisis. While there are still 851 open foreclosure cases to deal with, the number of new foreclosure filings has returned to normal levels. Thirty new foreclosure filings in October represent the lowest number of new filings in the county since June 2006.

For years, Flagler County was the poor stepchild, unnoticed and underrepresented in Tallahassee. Flagler’s recent growth spurt and census-driven redistricting earned the county a seat at the grownup’s table.

November 6, 2014 – For six years, Robin and Steve Sampson enjoyed their Palm Coast home at 21 Luther Drive. They had purchased the modest 1,316 SF three bedroom, two bath home from Village Homes Construction, the builder, in 2004 for $126,900. All of the paperwork was in order; sales contract, deed and legal description, survey, utility hookups, mortgage and title insurance. Life was good until 2010 when Louis DeSantis, of Coral Springs, knocked on their door to tell them that their house was on his 23 Luther Drive lot. Robin and Steve’s lives would be changed forever.
November 4, 2014 – CoreLogic released today its September Home Price Index (HPI) Report. The report examines the housing market within each state. U.S. prices rose 5.6% in September, year-over-year. In both September and October, home prices in metro Palm Coast (which includes all of Flagler County) remained stable. Steady price increases witnessed during the first eight months of 2013 tapered off after August.
November 1, 2014 – The City of Palm Coast issued a demolition permit for 250 Palm Coast Pkwy, the location of Palm Coast’s original shopping center to make room for Island Walk. The demolition contractor is Hawkins Construction Inc, of Tarpon Springs.
