May 22, 2016 – Florida Realtors® and National Association of Realtors® (NAR) have released their reports of April home sales. Flagler County numbers reflect the Florida market much more closely than the national market
PALM COAST, FL – May 19, 2016 – I get a lot of calls and emails from GoToby.com readers asking about one thing or another. Recently, three questions have popped up several times. So here are the answers.
May 18, 2016 – A panel of three experts in the hospitality industry sparred over how to protect property rights while leveling the field between hotels and short-term rentals.
May 17, 2016 – The delinquency rate for mortgage loans on one-to-four-unit residential properties remained unchanged from the previous quarter at a seasonally adjusted rate of 4.77 percent of all loans outstanding at the end of the first quarter of 2016. This was the lowest level since the third quarter of 2006. The delinquency rate was 77 basis points lower than one year ago, according to the Mortgage Bankers Association's (MBA) National Delinquency Survey.
May 15, 2016 – Commercial building permit activity is on the rise in Palm Coast. Several projects have moved forward since the May 5th GoToby.com update. The following list includes only those projects with a recent status change.

May 14, 2016 – You may have noticed your Wednesday News-Journal was a little heavier than usual. The News-Tribune insert included Flagler County’s officially advertised list of delinquent 2015 property taxes. These taxes became delinquent on April 1, 2016. An on-line Tax Certificate Sale for the listed properties began May 9, 2016. The Sale closes June 1, 2016.
May 13, 2016 – GoToby..com’s House of the Week is located in Island Estates, a two mile long private island circumscribed by the Intracoastal Waterway and Fox’s Cut, one of the last vestiges of the original Florida East Coast Canal.
May 12, 2016 – Many young adults struggle to become homeowners, with the student-debt burden delaying, in part, their ability to buy, according to speakers at a regulatory issues forum on student debt and homeownership at the 2016 Realtors® Legislative Meetings & Trade Expo going on this week in Washington, D.C.
May 9, 2016 — An uptick in sales activity amidst meager supply levels upheld the trend of unwavering price gains in an overwhelming majority of metro areas during the first quarter of the year, according to the latest quarterly report by the National Association of Realtors®.
May 9, 2016 – We’ve come a long way, Baby. Satellite images, 25 months apart (January 2014 to February 2016), tell the story of our area’s recovery from its role as poster child of the housing bubble. Google Earth gives a perspective we are unable to appreciate from ground level.
May 6, 2016 – Faith, my 14-year old granddaughter from North Carolina, loves to dance. She dances on her studio’s Competition Team and dreams of one day dancing professionally. But Faith has Cystic Fibrosis, a genetic disease that progressively affects the lungs and pancreas, resulting in frequent lung infections and poor weight gain. There is presently no cure.
May 6, 22016 – For the first time, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) allocated $173.6 million through the nation's Housing Trust Fund. Florida will receive $4.6 million.
May 5, 2016 – No commercial building permits were issued by Palm Coast during April. However, applications have been received for several building permits. There are also Commercial Site Development permits issued and permits for Commercial Interior Alterations.
May 5, 2016 – For the first time, buyers can purchase insurance that protects their downpayment if real estate values fall. One Florida bank offers it now, but more should follow.
May 4, 2016 – After renting space there since the company’s founding three years ago, Coastal Cloud has purchased the 25,834 square foot Hammock Beach Discovery Center at One Hammock Beach Pkwy in Palm Coast, Flagler County. Three years of success have validated Tim and Sara Hale’s decision to base their cloud consulting company here. Their recent purchase of the Discovery Center confirms their commitment to stay here.
