October 2, 2015 – The Blended Rate Equity Driver (BRED) mortgage, a new mortgage product proposed by Director of Housing Finance and Regional Economics Ken Fears, gives home owners more options and puts more equity in their pockets. This report is an introduction to BRED.
October 1, 2015 – Northeast Florida watches again as a major hurricane goes somewhere else rather than here. Major storms, for whatever reason, seem to steer clear of Northeast Florida. But they do come close enough to focus our rapt attention as the media follows the National Weather Service’s satellite views, discussions and graphic representation of expected storm tracks.
September 30, 2015 – Another of Flagler County’s golf courses is on more solid ground as Capstone Golf, the long-time operator of the Grand Reserve Gold Course, has purchased the course from the debtor in possession, CRM Florida Properties LLC. The purchase price was $1,300,000. The transaction closed on September 4th and was recorded September 10th.
September 30, 2015 – Flagler County has fully acquired the utility system that serves Plantation Bay residents.

Sept. 28, 2015 – The rules change for home buyers who need a mortgage if they apply this Saturday, Oct. 3, or later.
September 28, 2015 — Pending home sales retreated in August but remained at a healthy level of activity and have now risen year–over–year for 12 consecutive months, according to the National Association of Realtors®. A modest increase in the West was offset by declines in all other regions.
September 28, 2015 – Freddie Mac's latest Multi-Indicator Market Index (MiMi) finds that the Florida real estate market's rebound leads the nation. In a city-by-city comparison, Orlando leads the nation in both a month-to-month and year-to-year comparison, and only one non-Florida city makes the top five list for either timeframe.

Sept. 22, 2015 – The number of households spending more than 50 percent of their income on rent is expected to rise at least 11 percent – from 11.8 million to 13.1 million – by 2025, according to new research by Harvard University's Joint Center for Housing Studies (JCHS) and Enterprise Community Partners Inc. (Enterprise).
September 21, 2015 – Following three straight months of gains, existing–home sales dipped in August despite slowing price growth and a positive turnaround in the share of sales to first–time buyers, according to the National Association of Realtors®. None of the four major regions experienced sales increases in August.
September 20, 2015 – Nationwide housing starts dropped 3 percent to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 1.126 million units in August, according to newly released data from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and the Commerce Department. Overall permit issuance rose 3.5 percent to a rate of 1.170 million.
