March 7, 2014 – On March 4, 2014, the House voted 306-91 to approve the Homeowner Flood Insurance Affordability Act (H.R. 3370) with amendments. The House amendments further rein in and hold the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) accountable for the Biggert-Waters implementation issues.
March 6, 2014 – Joining national trends, Flagler County is seeing a downturn in the number of new foreclosure filings with only 40 in February. Open Flagler foreclosure cases dropped 9.7% in less than two months. The total now stands at 1,314. Meanwhile foreclosure completions (the result of foreclosure sales) are running at a good clip as judicial encouragement prompts action on backlogged cases.

March 3, 2014 – Pending home sales were essentially unchanged in January, according to the National Association of Realtors®. Monthly gains in the South and Northeast were offset by declines in the West and Midwest.
March 3, 2014 – CoreLogic has issued its National Foreclosure Report for January. 116,000 foreclosures were completed in Florida during the last 12 months (Feb to Jan), leading all states in that category.
February 28, 2014 – A report from the Washington DC-based nonprofit and non partisan Tax Foundation reveals the extent to which people moving from state to state take personal income across the borders with them. Based on IRS data, the Foundation reports that New York suffered the greatest loss in personal income losing $45.6 billion between 2000 and 2010. New York was followed by California, which lost $29.4 billion and Illinois, which was down $20.4 billion.
February 28, 2014 – GoToby.com’s monthly Flagler County foreclosure sale schedule introduces a new feature. The list of 88 properties includes the Case Number with a live link to the underlying Notice of Sale.
February 25, 2014 – The City of Palm Coast is advising users of Palm Coast Parkway to be on the lookout for construction work starting Monday, March 3. The project limits are Palm Coast Parkway between Florida Park Drive and Cypress Point Parkway, a distance of approximately 1.2 miles.
February 14, 2014 – Palm Coast and Flagler county home sales plummeted 26.5% from December to January. So what? Fewer homes were sold in January than in the previous December in each of the past seven years. Actually, home sales remain positive. 6.1% more homes were sold in January than during the same month a year ago. The aggregate value of those sales rose 11.1%.
February 14, 2014 – January was an active month for real estate transactions recorded by the Clerk of Court in Flagler County. Five in particular deserve attention because they were all on the high side of a million dollars.

February 4, 2014 – The Discount Tire Store under construction on SR 100 next to Panera Bread will not be completed. The real estate department of the tire retailer has reportedly decided to not go forward with a store at that site. S.E. Cline Construction has been hired to remove any building materials and restore the parcel to its pre-construction condition.
