October 1, 2014 – Last year, thousands tracked the lives of Romeo and Juliet, NE Florida’s best known American Bald Eagle pair, as they hatched and raised two offspring. Romeo came back to the NEFL nest on August 28. Juliet stayed longer than expected, but came back safe and sound on September 14. This season's reality show has begun!
September 29, 2014 – Pending home sales slowed modestly in August but contract signings remain at their second-highest level over the past year, according to the National Association of Realtors®. All major regions experienced declines except for the West, which rose for the fourth consecutive month.
September 29, 2014 – History repeats itself. Torrential rains hit both the Daytona Beach area and Palm Coast last week. Palm Coast received over ten inches of rain Friday and Saturday. The Daytona area suffered Wednesday, when nearly eight inches of rain fell in 24-hours. While several Daytona structures received major damage, Palm Coast’s damage was limited to only 15 structures. Water infiltrated into the living areas of only a few homes.
September 25, 2014 – All good things are worth waiting for. The development order has been approved for a Chick fil A at the former Perkins Family Restaurant location on the northwest corner of Palm Coast Pkwy NW and Boulder Rock Drive. The developer’s next steps are to submit for a permit to demolish the existing building and apply for a building permit for the new 4,390 square foot structure.
September 24, 2014 – The Commerce Department announced today that sales of new single-family houses in August 2014 were at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 504,000, according to estimates released jointly today by the U.S. Census Bureau and the Department of Housing and Urban Development. This is 18.0% (±16.3%) above the revised July rate of 427,000 and is 33.0% (±21.7%) above the August 2013 estimate of 379,000.

September 23, 2014 – On Friday, U.S. District Judge Timothy Corrigan ruled on Motions to Dismiss six consolidated cases against Bobby Ginn and Lubert Adler. In the split ruling, Corrigan granted Defendant’s Motion and dismissed, with prejudice, charges of bank fraud. Charges of breach of fiduciary duty and fraudulent inducement were dismissed with leave to amend. Remaining RICO charges will go mediation. Discovery is stayed pending the results of mediation.
September 22, 2014 – The Palm Coast and Flagler County real estate market seldom mirrors the national market. But when the comparison is narrowed to Florida, the similarities become greater. Florida Realtors® released their August report today. The trends it reveals are remarkably similar to our local market.
September 22, 2014 – After four consecutive months of gains, U.S. existing-home sales slipped in August as investors paying in cash retreated from the market, according to the National Association of Realtors®. Sales increases in the Northeast and Midwest were outweighed by declines in the South and West.
September 19, 2014 – Palm Coast and Flagler County are unique in several ways, not the least of which is their stark contrast to nearby St. Augustine. Founded in 1565, St. Augustine is the nation’s oldest continuously occupied city. Palm Coast was non-existent until the early 1970s. It now boasts nearly 80,000 residents. It incorporated as a city at the turn of the century. Not yet 15 years old, it is one of the nation’s newest cities.
September 17, 2014 – Builder confidence in the market for newly built, single-family homes rose for a fourth consecutive month in September to a level of 59 on the National Association of Home Builders/Wells Fargo Housing Market Index (HMI), released today. This latest four-point gain brings the index to its highest reading since November of 2005.
September, 17, 2014 – For the second time in less than five years, the real estate housing the Imagine Charter School at 775 Town Center Blvd has traded hands. Inland PPD Charter Palm Coast LLC, of Oak Brook, Ill, sold lots 3, 4 and 5 of Town Center phase 5 to AEP Charter Town Center LLC, of Foster City , Calif.
September 15, 2014 – The Palm Coast Metro (all of Flagler County) housing market continues to become more healthy. The number of homes sold remains flat year-over-year, but there are fewer distressed sales, fewer cash sales, higher gross sales, more single-family building permits, and fewer new foreclosures.
September 13, 2014 – An HGTV crew spent four days filming in Flagler Beach and the surrounding area for an upcoming episode of Beachfront Bargain Hunt. Activity was observed at The Funky Pelican, Marineland, Washington Oaks and area beaches.
September 12, 2014 – Well known Flagler Beach real estate agent Linda Kasper yesterday pled No Contest to one reduced charge of Scheme to Defraud, a second-degree felony. The plea closed a $9 million mortgage fraud case against her in which she and 14 other defendants had been charged with one count of racketeering (RICO) and one count of conspiracy to commit racketeering (RICO), both first-degree felonies.
September 10, 2014 – The Flagler County Department of Economic Opportunity announced today that Moving Minds, a global strategic marketing and web consultancy is expanding and plans to hire more than 50 qualified, local employees over the next 3 to 5 years.
