NE Florida Eagle CAM: Juliet Lays First Egg of 2014-2015 Nesting Season Today

NE Florida – November 16, 2014 – NE Florida’s most famous Bald Eagle pair, Romeo and Juliet, won thousands of friends who watched last year’s successful nesting season unfold via high resolution streaming video. This afternoon Juliet laid the first egg of the 2014/-2015 season. A second egg will likely follow within days. The normal incubation period is 35 days.

The 2013-2014 nesting season was the inaugural of the NE Florida Eagle CAM. It brought international attention to one of NE Florida’s breeding pair of Bald Eagles. Thousands followed Romeo and Juliet as their two hatchlings; Samson and Delilah matured, branched and finally fledged. Last year’s first egg was laid November 14. A second followed on November 17. Delilah hatched December 20th, Samson December 23rd. A third solar-powered camera was added this year, giving viewers a second close-up angle from which to watch events unfold.
They have returned to this same nest for several years. The following video is from the 2013-2014 nesting season.
The NE Florida Eagle CAM is provided by the American Eagle Federation. Established in 1985, the non-profit AEF is dedicated to protect the majestic Bald Eagle, the USA's National Symbol, and its habitat by supporting and conducting eagle and environmental recovery and education programs. In 2015, AEF will celebrate its 30th Anniversary. The American Eagle Foundation is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit public charity, so donations are fully "tax-deductible"
