Olive Garden & Red Lobster to Open in Palm Coast March 7
Darden Restaurants’ first synergy format, combing two restaurants under one roof, will open in Town Center. On-site hiring is scheduled to begin January 24.
Palm Coast, FL – January 12, 2011 – Orlando-based Darden Restaurants has scheduled a March 7th opening for two new restaurants in Palm Coast’s Town Center according to a company spokesperson. A single building will house both Olive Garden and Red Lobster. Kitchen, bar, and restroom facilities will be shared in the new synergy format; the first of its kind.

Both restaurants will begin hiring on January 24th. [UPDATE Jan 24] Hiring will not begin on the 24th. GoToby has no new hiring schedule. All applications must be made in person at the Town Center location. No applications will be accepted online. Signs announcing hiring dates and times will be posted on-site soon.
Since opening their first Red Lobster restaurant in Lakeland, Fla., in 1968, Darden has grown to become the world’s largest full-service restaurant company. Through subsidiaries, Darden owns and operates 1,800 restaurants, employs approximately 180,000 people and serves 400 million meals a year. In addition to Olive Garden and Red Lobster, Darden’s brands include Longhorn Steakhouse, The Capital Grille, Bahama Breeze, and Seasons 52.

Just think how nice it would be if you like that type of food but she went because the husband does but she finds out that she could order from the red lobster.

It’s gonna be miserable
I love the food from both of these restaurants, but I have a feeling they are just going to be ~ridiculously~ (and miserably) packed ALL the time.
So I’ll probably just keep going to Mezalluna’s for Italian and JT’s for Seafood (my personal favorites).
I do crave those Olive Garden breadsticks though…

Jan 24 – I was just informed by a reader that stopped by Olive Garden/Red Lobster yesterday that hiring was not going to begin today (the 24th). I don’t have an updated schedule.
