Palm Coast’s European Village To Be Sold

Jacksonville group will take over European Village, including Players Club tennis facility

May 28, 2007 – (corrected August 17, 2007) Palm Coast, FL – Apparently the transaction has not closed, but I’ve heard that an investment group from Jacksonville will be purchasing the assets of the European Village. The majority of the main European Village was developed and sold as commercial and residential condominiums, but some units were still held by the developer. European Village also owned what was once the Players Club, a tennis facility. The likely buyers are from Jacksonville.

If this transaction completes, it will be good news for both owners of European Village commercial and residential condos as well as residents of the Palm Coast area. A few retailers and restaurateurs are doing well, (i.e. Mezzaluna Pizzeria and Barbara Jeans) but many shop fronts have changed hands more than once. Some are vacant. The original developer is not a fan of present European Village condo owners, Players Club members, or local subcontractors, and has reportedly burned many bridges between St. Augustine and Daytona Beach. Over the past several months, multiple public notices of legal filings have named European Village as the defendant.

The new owners plan to refurbish the tennis facility and to restart stalled plans to develop a wellness/fitness center on the property.

    Good News

Peter has been nothing other than poison to the business owners at European Village. He has concerned himself only with those businesses that he and his wife own. I welcome the coming changes at EV and hope that this facility can finally fulfill it’s potential.
